Matt laughed. "You were wise to come to me with your problems." He joked. "I guess we should have gotten our papers switched, then we could have worked on it by ourselves. Then again, where's the fun in that." He said with a shrug.

"Well, plenty of women are viewed as intelligent now, just look at the basic population of Hogwarts - and especially Ravenclaw house," Carey added in amusement. Eying his texbook, he said, "At least you have something exciting to do, I have to make up an exam in Herbology that I was not aware I missed. So, yeah. I'm kinda screwed. And now, now...some guys just let girls beat them up, whether it be physically or mentally."
'Kinda like Abby's doing to me,' he thought, shaking his head and staring at both Matt and London through the lenses of his glasses. New topic, perhaps...one interesting one he had heard of earlier on. "So...aside from all this classic Ravenclaw smart-talk...have you heard of the fling that's supposed to be going on in a few weeks?"

London sat up. She had forgotten about it. "Yeah! I don't know who to ask but," she paused as a smirk came to her face. She looked at Carey knowingly "Well, I think YOU should ask Abby to the fling.."

Matt smirked at Carey. "I think she'd be ecstatic at that." He said, playing with his a pencil he found in the chair. "I already asked someone to go." He stated calmly, smiling at the other two.

Carey laughed at London's sudden excitement. "Girls...leave it to men to mention a dance or some occasion that lets them get dressed up and go with dates..." he said to Matt, shaking his head in amusement. "Though, how could one forget about it, it's even posted in the Prophet about it maybe-being one of the most extravagant and such..."
The look on his face changed to one that was seemingly a mix of mortification and confusion. "How did you even know about that?" Raising an eyebrow, he tried to act more calm and less speechless. Figures, someone must have told her...either Abby herself or even Lisette. "Well uh...okay, I thought of that, maybe. But she wouldn't wanna go with me, I'd think...are you going with Sirius?" he asked, throwing that possibility in, without really knowing what actually went on within the drama that happened one night and was kept low-key by mostly Professor McGonagall.
Looking at Matt, he too raised his eyebrow. "Well, Sir Fabulous, who did -you- ask to go with you?"

Matt raised his eyebrows. "Well, Mr. Sleep-A-Lot. I asked Rinsetta Du'Cal to go to the dance." He said with a nod, smirking at Carey's confusion over the Abby deal.

"I'm perfectly fine getting a lot of sleep! And you're doing an awful lot of smirking at me today, did I do something wrong...or are you just once again disappointed in my lack of confidence and manliness, like usual?" Being one of the few males in Ravenclaw, he felt like he was...well, feminized, as all his friends were basically girls. He made a face out of half-boredom, and half-thought.
And then, Matt said Rinestta Du'Cal...the name. Carey winced, and he ran his hand through his dark hair. "Yeah...Des and Lisette dried to set me up with her, but I was in the middle of actually going to pursue my feelings for Abby, so I kinda bailed out. I'm a jerk, I know..."

"Carey! She would love to go with you! Just pluck up some courage and ask her." she shuffled in the seat. "I'd think I would go with Sirius if he actually talked to me..Hey! What special nickname do I get? I feel all left out!"

Matt shook his head. "I'm always disappointed in you, Carey." He said solemnly. "You need to buck up and stop acting girly. You know I found him with a curling iron last week?" Matt turned to London, knowing it was a cruel joke, but having fun nevertheless.
Matt then raised his eyebrows. "Wow. Didn't know that. I don't think you're a jerk, you just didn't appreciate their taste in girls for you. I'm perfectly fine that you didn't go out with her." He stated, smiling again.
Laughing, he stared at London a few seconds. "I don't know what nick-name we should give you. How about Angel-May." He asked playfully.

London took this time to settle back. This should be interesting. She had never gotten into Carey's personal life. She listened and nodded. And laughed when Matt made his comment of girlyness. Suddenly she looked confused "Angel-may...Where's you come up with that?"

Matt turned to face London. "Well, it's from a muggle book. To Kill A Mockingbird. I just thought it sounded funny, but we can come up with something else." He answered, raising an eyebrow at the girl. "Like, Girl-Who-Is-Called-London or something."

London frowned "Ha ha ha, very funny King-of-all-who-are-funny. I like...Queen-of-the-very-intelligent-but-not-too-intelligent," she laughed "It's a very fitting title. Don't you think?" She said making fun of herself. "Or do you want something much shorter?"

Matt laughed. "Well, I think it's fitting." He joked. "Don't shorten it, why ruin a good thing?" He asked, throwing the pencil at London. "Though I like the title you gave me." He added with a smirk.

(( I was waiting for Carey, but...))
London smiled. "Well, if you like it, I'll keep it!" She then gasped at the pencil that hit her head." How dare you throw a pencil at me? And thank you. I am the master of names." she looked back at Carey "What are you reading?" she asked reaching for the book.

((I'm really sorry for holding it up a lot >_<))
The skeptical look was firmly placed in Carey's facial features as he leaned his head against his hand. "I don't know, it seems like a slightly touchy subject, untouchable ground since she's one of my closest friends. And with Rinestta, I just didn't know her at all, and I'd feel awkward. Not that I didn't appreciate Des and Lisette's plans and all, but... well, whatever, I'm glad you're going with her."
He then rolled his eyes and crossed his legs, shaking his head at Matt's comment, and he felt a bit amused and embarassed at the same time while seeing the look on London's face. "Yeah...I'm a terrible guy, I know. And what? Curling iron? Muggle tool? Don't they have one that straightens your hair as well?"
Eying the book in his possession, Carey let London take it from him. "Herbology. I need to memorize all these plant stuff for antidotes and...oh, it's a bunch of terms that I don't recall at the moment, but I wrote them down somewhere..."
