I finally finished another fic. It took me ages to write. I wanted to get the star couple just right. I fear however, it's not my best. The emotions were to difficult to deal with and get it right. Anyway here it is, enjoy.
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters, or lyrics. Sirius Black belongs to (of course) JK Rowling, and London Kale belongs to our very own Patty. The lyrics are from the song "It's Not Over" by Chris Daughtry
Sirius Black isn’t the person who would be caught dead pining for a girl, but London Kale wasn’t just any girl. She was an amazing, gifted and beautiful young woman. She had such a park in her and a love for life. Sirius had never met anyone so in his seventeen years of life. No other girl had held his interest as long as she had, and now he had messed up again.
There was a time when the world had been perfect for the two lovebirds. Too perfect it had scared him. He didn’t know why exactly. She was kind, beautiful…vivacious. The two had such chemistry! He trusted her completely. She always brought a smile to his face. None of his past relationships had been so, and to be honest, it scared the crap out of him. So he came up with a brilliant idea to spend less time wither.
He scoffed Brilliant… It had ended in a mutual break-up. But the two were still good friends. She still brought a tiny smile to his face and he trusted her above any other person-besides James of course. They had a strong bond, despite the fact the two had once held something special. The two had grown, of course, but he was still the same in so many ways. He’d still act on impulse and tonight it had resulted with a kiss. He looked down at his bleeding knuckles. The pain was numbing, but he thought only of London.
She had been flirting, he told himself over and over. He shook his head; that had been no excuse for a kiss though. She kissed you back his conscience told him, adding to the mental discussion. Well…there was that, which opened the door to a billion more questions. Still, in the end she had run off. No, I scared her off. In his anger and frustration he had spun around and punched the stone wall, leaving him with bleeding knuckles and bleeding heart as well.
London Kale ran a nervous hand through her dark hair. She wiped another hot tear from her eye before it could even begin to roll down her cheek. She was sitting on the cold, hard floor, holding her knees close on top of the highest tower in Hogwarts. The stars seemed to be mocking her; especially the bright one in the corner. “The brightest of them all,” She spat bitterly.
She had known it was going to happen. Something-a sixth sense, if you will- had warned her that she’d be up here again like old times. She didn’t want to go down that path another time. She didn’t want to commit the same mistake twice. So why had she allowed the broom ride? Why had she let herself flirt-even a little? Why in hell had she kissed Sirius Black back?
A soft sob escaped her lips. Why did he have to be so wonderful? Why did he have to be so charming and undeniably good-looking? Why-even after all this time- did he still hold the damn key to her damned heart? Another sob escaped as she leaned her head against the stone wall. The stupid star was still there, looming over her. Why did love hurt so much? She loved him with all her heart, all her strength, but in the end it meant nothing.
“How does it feel to know you’re everything I want?” She cried out to the bright, but small dot in the vast ocean of darkness. “I shouldn’t like you like this.” She sobbed, “I shouldn’t like you like this.”
The more Sirius thought about it, the more he came to realize what a fool he had been. London had been everything, was everything to him, even now. He had been a fool and thrown it all away; just because it was new to him.
“Bloody Gryffindor,” He muttered. So much for Gryffindor bravery and pride. He might as well have been sorted into Slytherin; if he was too afraid to love. He had lost the most wonderful thing he ever had. He needed to see London again. To talk to her, hold her. He had to tell her just how he felt before it was too late.
He ran past Gryffindors in the common room, ignoring Peter’s cry of “Hey Padfoot! Where you goin’?” Right now he didn’t have time for anyone else in the world, but London.
Once outside of the Ravenclaw common room he tried to ignore the stares he received form those entering and leaving. Most were chatty third years, but none were sixth or seventh years who might know London. He didn’t move from his place, he’d wait all night if he had to.
It was just past midnight when London realized she should be in the common room. She didn’t have a mirror with her, but she knew she looked a mess. Lisette or Lexy will worry… She bit her lip and tried to fix herself up as best as she could. No one would have known she had been crying. She had cried so many times before, she was a natural at covering up and hiding her emotions. However, nothing could have prepared her for what she saw, outside of the Ravenclaw Common Room.
A loud gasp awoke a dozing Sirius Black. He was readied himself to think it was a Prefect, or Lily Evans, Head Girl. Maybe even Professor McGonagall, never would he have expected that he’d open his eyes to see a brilliant pair staring back at him. London… He scrambled to his feet.
“What are you doing here?” She asked. “Is something wrong? Who is it? Is it James? What happened?”
He couldn’t help but let out a small smile. She was constantly worrying. Half of him wanted to tease her, but he knew now was not the moment. “Yes something it wrong. But it’s not James.”
“Who then? Remus? Pe-”
He put a finger to her lips, in order to shush her, even for a moment. “London, let me speak. Nothing is wrong with them. The problem is us.”
He took a deep breath. “London we can’t go on like this anymore. You’re my best friend…and even though we broke up, we’re still closer than ever.” He paused. Why was it so hard to tell her this? When everything else would spill out? “London, I know when we broke up, it was a mutual decision. But…you know that saying ‘distance makes us wise’? I think it applies to us.” He ran another nervous hand through his hair. “I love you London.”
“I want to be with you again. I love you.”
London couldn’t believe her ears. She was in his arms once more again, hearing his soothing voice. She crying again, but she knew that this time it was different. He was there to wipe away every tear from her face. He cupped her face and leaned in for a soft kiss of pure bliss.

I was blown away what could I say
It all seemed to make sense
You’ve taken away everything
And I can’t do without
I try to see the good in life
But good things in life are hard to find
Blow it away, Blow it away
Can we make this something good
Well I'll try to do it right this time around
It all seemed to make sense
You’ve taken away everything
And I can’t do without
I try to see the good in life
But good things in life are hard to find
Blow it away, Blow it away
Can we make this something good
Well I'll try to do it right this time around

It's not over
I'll try to do it right this time around
It's not over
There’s a part of me that’s dead and in the ground
This love is killing me, but you’re the only one
It's not over
I'll try to do it right this time around
It's not over
There’s a part of me that’s dead and in the ground
This love is killing me, but you’re the only one
It's not over

Taken all I could take and I cannot wait
Were wasting to much time
Being strong holding on
Can't let it bring us down
My life with you means everything
So I won’t give up that easily
Blow it away, blow it away
Can we make this something good
Cause its all misunderstood
Well I'll try to do it right this time around
Were wasting to much time
Being strong holding on
Can't let it bring us down
My life with you means everything
So I won’t give up that easily
Blow it away, blow it away

Let’s start over
I'll try to do it right this time around
It’s not over
Cause a part of me is dead and in the ground
This love is killing me
But you’re the only one
It’s not over
We can’t let this get away
Let it out, let it out
Don’t get caught up in yourself
Let it out
I'll try to do it right this time around
It’s not over

This love is killing me
But you’re the only one
It’s not over

Let it out
