London did not feel to good. She had been hiding out all summer trying to find out how to get out of being a death eater. Last night she had looked up how to hise things on the body but came up short. That was why she had ventured to Florish and Blotts first. She quickly searched the proper section and finally found something. The Illusion charm. She wished she hadn't taken their bluff. She should have known that Lisette would have been with very capable people.
London heard the bell of the shop ring and quickly ran her wand over her left arm and instantly smiled. The dark mark was gone and her arm was clear of anything evil. She quickly frowned, it was just an illusion. It wasn;t really gone. A sigh escaped her throat as she put the book back on the shelf.
London ventured over to the school section and got her needed books. This was going to be a long, hard year.

Lisette's summer was more than satisfactory, it was pretty much marvelous. She had spent the entire summer with her parents in Castilla and Valencia. Of course, Valencia depressed her a little, but she was happy to be visiting her father's hometown. Victor took her out on the Mediterranean Sea and the girl would be coming home with a very healthy tan.
She had spent the first few weeks at home in England with the Victorias and her friends. She had missed them while on her trip, and wrote letters to them all. To say she was happy to be out and shopping in Diagon Alley was an understatement.
Lisette got there early, and had spent most of the morning browsing. Andrea and Victor chose to go around London, but Lisette opted out. They did so much as a trio, Lisette decided it would be nice for the two to have some quiet time. Lisette knew her mother liked spending time with Victor and honestly, it wasn't uncomfortable anymore. She loved seeing her mother with a bright smile on her face.
The first shops she had hit were for smaller items, like the Apothecary and Quality Quidditch Supplies. She decided to get other stuff later, when she met up with her friends. So far, she had just about everything, so she opted for strolling around Diagon Alley. She gave a squeal of delight when she saw someone familiar through the window.
Lisette was there in a flash, and nearly tackled her friend, London into a fierce hug. "LONDON KALE!" Her battle cry was all the girl had for a warning, before being involved into a hug. "AH! I've missed you SO MUCH! How are you? How's your family? Are you ok? Who have you heard from? What time did you get here? I've been alone for ages!" The girl began bombarding questions one after the other. But she was happy, and honestly, as long as London had been ok, it didn't matter. She was just too excited to see her again.

London glanced at the door as it opened again. It was Lisette. London had forgotten that she still had a bruise from where her father punched her, but at lest the dark mark was covered up. She was glad to see Lisette. She winced as Lisette yelled her name in what was supposed to be a happy moment, and it was. London was glad Lisette was ok. She knew that she was okay but there was still a string of doubt.
London winced again as Lisette squeezed her. Normally she would have been happy, but her left arm was sore and very tender. "Ow." London whispered before she was bombarded with questions from Lisette. "I'm okay, I've heard from pretty much everyone, I got here about an hour ago..." she answered as normally as she could. She finally got a better look at Lisette and realized she was tanner. "Lisette," she asked very seriously "Are you okay?" London wanted to make sure that she hadn't actually been hurt at all.
London looked down. Why hadn't she remembered to cover up the bruise on her jaw? It was very noticable, and it was strange seeing as whoever had put it there had used a lot of force. More force than anyone in a normal fight. She glared at the ground now. She hated her father, she hated him.

Lisette laughed, surprised that London could keep up with her questions and the pace she was throwing them out. She did notice two important questions that weren't answered, but figured not to press her friend with information about them. It was a touchy subject, but Lisette was only trying to look out for her friend. She really cared, and she would do anything to help London.
"Haha, of course I'm ok!" Lisette reassured her friend. "Lon, I was out in Spain all summer. I was ok. Besides, Mum and Victor wouldn't let me out of their sights. C'mon, I sent you all those letters so you wouldn't worry." She laughed lightly, thinking that London was overreacting.
She stepped back and took a good look at her friend. London's hair was longer, although just slightly. She seemed taller, but perhaps that was just Lisette. Lisette frowned though, noticing a bruise on her jaw. "London, wha-?" She extended her hand, and paused, inches away from making contact with her skin. She shut her eyes fiercely, clenching her jaw. "London. What happened?" Her voice was hard, no longer holding any sign of it's earlier cheerful nature.

"Okay," London actually smiled. She was just relieved Voldemort hadn't done anything to her. "Yeah, I got all your letters, but you know I'm over-protective and prone to irrational decisions if anyone messes with my friends." London had noticed that Lisette looked shorter, and almost laughed. She had lied when she said she was ok. She got punched, crucioed, and, ugh, kissed.
London frowned again as Lisette saw her bruise. She had never really lied to Lisette, but she was good at it. It was almost too much to handle. London hoped Lisette wouldn't touch it. She had to admit she had her father's punch, and it was the worst pain, besides the crucio, she had ever felt. London cursed in her mind as Lisette's tone changed. No more cheery, now she was suspicious.
London smiled cheekily. "I got in a fight," somewhat the truth "Some jackass tried to get me to do something I didn't want to." She knew how Lisette would take it. That some guy tried to get her in bed with him. It was somewhat like getting in a fight with her father over good and evil. Well, no it wasn't.

Lisette smiled wryly. "Yeah, I guess so." She hugged her friend briefly. "Augh. I've missed you so much. It was pretty lonesome at times." Still, she was happy to be back and that was what mattered.
Lisette's eyes narrowed, as her eyes searched London for any other signs of bruises and abuse. She sighed and began searching in her bag for some potion to help with the healing process. When she found a small bottle of ointment, she took it out and shoved it into London's hand. "Here," She told her, "Just a dab of that, and it'll Heal in no time." She shook her head. It was like London to be fighting.
But it was also true, that London was certainly good at lying. Lisette kept her gaze on her friend, trying to find some sign that would point to a lie. She sighed when she couldn't find one. Guess London was telling the truth. "So what happened?" She asked, now curious. "Was some guy calling you baby and tried to get you to kiss him?" That would be something reasonable to fight about. Lisette didn't approve of fighting unless it was necessary.

As Lisette hugged her again London winced. She tried to keep her left arm out of the way, but didn't seem to manage it most of the time. Sometimes, for no reason, her arm would burn and she would have to sit in minor pain for hours. A sigh escaped form her, which wasn't anything unsual. "I missed you too, Liz. I was worried about you." Which was true.
London smiled as Lisette handed her something for the bruise. It was just like her to be the one to take care of London. She took it gratefully and dabbed it on her chin. The faster the sign of her father's strength went away, the better. It hurt when she touched it but she didn't wince. She knew her father would be watching sometime, it was just like him to make sure she didn't spill the secret.
London could feel Lisette's gaze. She didn't look up. Instead she acted like she was overly busy with the ointment. She relaxed once Lisette started asking her questions. "Yeah, he would let me go so I had to throw a few punched, bite a few hands.." she said the last part quietly. Stupid Anthony Dolohov. "He tried to get me to 'join' him." that should have really pressed her dad's buttons. She now knew he was watching, she had seen him only a few seconds earlier.

Lisette sighed impatiently. "There's no reason to worry though." She reassured London. "I'm fine. I'm a big girl and I can take care of myself." She winked at London, but dropped her smile when she saw the concern in London's eyes. "I'm fine. Really."
Lisette sighed, but smiled back up at London. She shifted her feet and glanced around the bookstore as London took the ointment and began applying it on herself. "You can keep that." She told her friend. "No doubt a spunky girl like you would need it." She laughed lightly.
"Eww. Join him? What kind of slang is that?" She snickered. "Who was the guy anyway? Anyone Matt can roughen up?" She walked over to London and poked her playfully in the stomach. "C'mon. We can probably give the guy a good scare."
It was just like Matt and Lisette to stick up for London. The three were very close and got each other's back if they were ever needed. They looked out for one another. They were pretty much siblings.

London smiled again. It was getting easier to act normal around Lisette. "I know, but I've been through a lot this summer. It's getting hard with my father, he's unpredictable. So I had to worry about everyone." Lisette already knew that her dad was a death eater, and she almost laughed because he was listening. She didn't really give anything away, so he wouldn't have any dirt on her.
"Thanks," London put the ointment in her pocket. Lisette asked her another question and London almost burst out laughing "I don't know what kind of slang that was. I don't know..maybe it was Anthony Dolohov." She did laugh this time because she was sure her father would be angry. But he still had nothing to report.
London grabbed the last book she needed and went to the counter. "Hey, where is Matt? He should be here by now..."

((Should Matt come in, because it sounds like he should.))
Matt had happily ventured out of his house that day. His sister was hanging around and was about to drive him up the wall, so he had decided to go to Diagon Alley earlier than he had told London and Lisette. He hadn't realized how early he was, however, and ended up having more time on his hands than he knew what to do with. For lack of anything better to do, Matt pulled out an interesting book from Flourish and Blotts, sitting down in one of the chairs to read for a bit. It was such an interesting book that he had lost track of the time and didn't realize his two friends had come into the store.
Feeling a pair of eyes on him, Matt looked up from his book and saw a younger girl staring at him. At this the dark haired Ravenclaw raised an eyebrow and shut his book. Instead of backing off, the girl instead walked over to him and introduced herself. "Hi, I'm Kim." Matt just nodded at this and sat in silence until it became clear that she expected him to say something. "I'm... Matt." He said, feeling quite awkward. "Oh my gosh, I was right. You're that cute prankster from my house!" The girl squealed, making Matt's eyes grow wide. "Mel, Krissy! That funny, cute guy is in here!" The girl turned around to go find her friends and Matt's eyes grew even wider.
Before the girl could return, Matt bolted up and looked around, praying that Lisette and London had arrived. Suddenly, he heard his name and quickly made his way to the aisle that the voice came from. Seeing Lisette and London, Matt grinned in relief and could have hugged them both. "Thank Merlin you guys are here." He exclaimed, grinning at the two girls. "If you see a group of young Ravenclaws around, tell me and I'll hide." He added, his eyes darting around.
((couldn't help but add the younger girl. It was far too amusing to pass up xD))

Lisette sighed, nodding at London's statement. Lisette knew about London's father and what a tyrant he could be. "I'm sorry," She told London, wishing she could have taken London with her over summer. It would have been great, and perhaps London could have been in higher spirits now. Still, Lisette wasn't so sure if that could have happened. Her father was one of You-Know-Who's followers. Lisette wouldn't have wanted her parents in danger. It was dangerous to be friends with London, but she was like a sister to Lisette. She couldn't leave her.
"Anthony Dolohov?" Lisette questioned, making a face. "The Slytherin, right? Eww." She had met Dolohov once around school and once was enough. He was too intimidating. Lisette had tried to see good in him and failed. "Does your father know?" She questioned, now curious. "He'd be furious with him, right?"
Lisette grabbed the same book London grabbed, and sighed. Both girls had a huge stack of books to buy. One look at London's side and she knew her friend had gotten them already. Well, now she'd have to tag along after Lisette. "Matt?" Lisette shrugged, not sure where the boy was. "He should, but you know him. Always late, that one."
Just then she felt something - or rather, someone rush past her. She turned to see Matt, and grinned. She sighed. "There he is!" She informed London with a laugh. Lisette looked at Matt, noting that his hair had grown out some more and the fact that he looked older. Just a bit. Lisette knew he'd always be the same old Matt no matter how old he got.
"Oh quick hide!" She hissed at the boy. "Here they come!' Truth was, there was no one even walking nearby, but Lisette just wanted to see him hide. She laughed. "Haha Matt. Who is it now?"

London looked a little shocked. “Don't say that, Liz.” London had told Lisette and Matt all about her father, and there wasn't anything she kept from them. Except for now. London shifted in thought. London would never want to put Lisette or Matt in danger, but what if she didn't have a choice. The only way would be to either tell them and have them hate her or push them away and hurt them. Either way it would be troublesome.
“Yeah, that Slytherin.” London had seen Dolohov only a few times when she was with Lisette. London bit her lip. “Lisette, my dad doesn't really care about anything that's good for me, he wants me to be miserable. He wouldn't be furious at all, he would probably be ecstatic that some one is driving me crazy.”
London felt a small breeze and looked over to see Matt. Right on time, he was always there when any one talked about him. He was talking about hiding which made London curious. She peaked around the corner to see some Ravenclaw girls. So this was what was bothering him. She couldn't help but laugh. “Matt, do you need us to get you out of this?”

When Lisette told him to hide, Matt ducked behind a stack of books and then blinked when nothing happened. Realizing that his friend had tricked him, he straightened and narrowed his eyes in Lisette's direction. "You know, if you keep doing that I might just not help you the next time you need me." He stated, putting on his hurt face. "You are just unbelievable, and you call yourself my friend." Shaking his head, Matt looked to London and then smiled. "Ah, my true friend!" He exclaimed, flashing her one of his charming grins. He wasn't really mad at Lisette, but he felt that she had been taking advantage of his good nature too much. Well, she hadn't exactly done that, but he felt that he needed to act mad anyway. Before he had any time to do anything else, however, the group of girls started to approach the aisle and he groaned.
"London, quick. Intimidate them." He asked, moving slightly behind her shoulder. "Please." He added when he realized how demanding his tone sounded. He didn't exactly know what he meant by intimidate, but London was usually good at getting out of scrapes and the like, so he trusted that his friend would get rid of the girls. Not that he didn't like being admired, but he usually preferred girls in his year or at least a year younger. Any more than that and he felt like a pedophile. "And Lisette could make a mean remark and hurt their feelings, if you think that would help." He couldn't help but add this as he smirked at Lisette. He wasn't exactly helping his situation with that comment, but it was a habit of Matt's to let his cheek get away with him.
After he said this, the girls rounded the corner and all stopped at once. "It's like a herd of geese." He whispered to London. When the girls saw Lisette and London, they glared at the two older girls and then giggled at Matt. "You're cute." One particularly brash girl exclaimed. Matt blinked, not knowing how to respond to that. He was never one to turn away a compliment, but that girl was just a bit creepy.

London laughed when Lisette told Matt to hide. "Liz, you're evil." She saw the girls and smiled a lopsided grin that she only smiled when she was with Matt or Lisette. Matt and Lisette were always London's best friends. They just clicked on the first day they all met. London assumed that the reason they were all so well together is their different qualities you wouldn't normally find in others. Mat had a better way of looking at the world, even if it was lazy. Lisette was already mother-like and always knew what to do. London, however, complimented both of them so well with her attitude that it was like they were related.
London's smile grew wider "We can take them down, we just can't use violence." She almost laughed because it was like talking about a war. Before she could say anything else the girls came up to them. One glare from them and London knew what to do. "Follow my lead." she whispered to them. London knew how to tick guy crazy girls off, she had done it all her life. A natural, flirtacious smile cam upon her face as she looked at Matt.
Without a word London put her arm around Matt's waist and winked at Lisette. "Aww! They're so adorable!!" she said like she was talking about a bunch of puppies. This would instantly send the girls into a mixture of anger and depression. First, anger because Matt was "taken". Depressed because London talked to them like they were three and it made them feel insecure.
