Sirius was bored. There was nothing else to describe his current condition. It was summer holiday, for Merlin's sake, and what was he doing? He was idly poking his head with his wand and causing brown tufts of hair to grow past his eyes and back again. His legs were cramping from sitting so long in one position. His dark leather couches seemed to be less squishy and comfortable. And his light coffee colored walls seemed to be closing in around him. Sirius was almost wishing he would yawn, just so he would have a reason to go up to his bedroom and take a nap. Sirius looked around the room for something to do and noticed his pajama pants, registering that he still hadn't bothered to get dressed, despite it being close to dinner time. But what did it matter? He'd slept in late, made himself lunch, read the paper, and some how had made it through four and a half hours of nothing.
In the first two weeks that Hogwarts students had been out for summer, Sirius had been quite busy. There were non stop graduation parties and parties marking the beginning of the holiday, and Sirius had been to all of them. He'd downed so much firewhiskey to last any normal man a decade. And he'd danced so much that he'd actually gotten sick of it. But then all the parties suddenly slowed, and Sirius was starting to get bored during the days. He hadn't reckoned on being bored at all this summer. It was the summer before his final year at Hogwarts, after all. Sirius had figured he'd be spending a good amount of time with his girlfriend, but she was vacationing with her family somewhere, something Sirius would of course not be doing since he had run away from his parents' house at the end of last summer.
After leaving his much despised home of sixteen years, Sirius had bought this place. His Uncle Alfard had left him quite a bit of money so the purchase of the large apartment was taken care of. He really liked his new home. It was simple but elegant, and really comfortable. Surprisingly, it was kept clean most of the time. Sirius' favorite thing about his apartment was the recreation room. It was a huge room, devoted completely to having fun. There was a pool table, there were darts, there was a poker table. There was a dance floor and a monstrous sound system. And, of course, there was an excellent mini-bar in the corner. It was perfect for having people over, which is just what Sirius intended to do.
For some reason, however, he was not much in the mood for a party at his place. Not that day anyway. Something about today struck him as too dull and almost sad for a party. Today was really just the day when you sit on your couch and do nothing. He wished he had someone to sit with him though.

Lexy ran outside of her home tears falling quickly down her face. She ran to the park that was down the street from her house. She only looked back once, to see if anyone had followed her. Both her mother and father had remained in the house. She reached the park and sat on one of the swings. Lexy didn't often run out of her house in tears. In fact, Lexy usually remained relatively calm in her house hold. She hated being a huge disapointment to her parents, but she usually suffered in silence. Today though, the subject of her future had come up. She didn't want the life her parents wanted for her. A pretty house wife for some pureblood jerk. Her parents thought it was just a phase and that she'd grow out of it eventually. They couldn't be more wrong.
She sat on the swing kicking her feet back and forth in the sand the tears still streaming down her face. She was in a tanktop, jean shorts, and flip flops. The tanktop and shorts were a matching dark purple. Suddenly it began to rain heavily. She looked down at the large manor down the street. She should probably return home. She just couldn't. This fight had been worse than all the others put together. She wanted to just get away for a while. It's not like her parents would care anyways. Where could she go though? She looked around the park and childhood memories came rushing to her. She knew where she could go. Where she wanted to go. She wanted to go see her best friend.
She took out her want closed her eyes and apparated right in front of the door of a flat. She was soaking wet and still crying. She needed the person on the other side of the door. He would understand a fight with parents. He had more fights with his parents before he ran away then she could count. His parents were just like hers. He would understand more than any of her other friends.
She knocked three times and stood back to wait stepping on the doormat trying not to get water everywhere as she waited for her best friend to answer the door hoping he was home.

Sirius' daydream about flying on his broomstick was interrupted by three knocks on his front door. His head jerked up at the sound and he dropped his wand on the couch. Finally, a visitor! He had no clue who it could be. His girlfriend didn't come back for another couple of days, James and Remus were also on holiday, and obviously it wasn't going to be his parents, both of whom he hadn't spoken to in almost a year. Sirius launched himself off the couch and then realized again that he was only wearing boxers and pajama pants. However his laziness and his curiosity to know who was at his door kept him from running to his bedroom to grab a shirt. Besides no one he knew would care if he wasn't properly dressed.
So Sirius walked down the hall and to the front door. He turned the handle and pulled it open to find a soaking wet and crying, but still beautiful, blond girl standing on his doorstep. "Lexy!" Sirius cried out, completely surprised by her appearance. He frowned and immediately asked, "Who am I beating up this time?" hoping to get maybe a hint of a smile from his friend. She knew what he was like. If anyone ever hurt one of his friends, especially Lexy, he would be the one to show them the meaning of pain. And obviously Lexy was having some sort of problem at the moment.
Not wanting to leave her standing in the hallway wet and crying, Sirius took a step forward and pulled the tall blond into a hug. Leaving an arm around her shoulders, he ushered her into his apartment. "Let me get you a towel," he said, and with that went off and grabbed his wand from the living room and conjured a towel. Sirius walked back toward Lexy and wrapped the giant fluffy towel around her shoulders. He thought she might want to talk about what happened, but first he wanted to get her dry and comfortable. With one hand he gently lifted her chin and with the other he grabbed a corner of the towel and wiped the tears from her cheeks. Then he smiled at her. "How bout some dry clothes, love?"

She waited until Sirius opened the door. Her tears had slowed down significantly, but they were still flowing. She managed to choke out a laugh at his statement about beating up who ever made her cry knowing that he would do just that for her if she wanted him too. Maybe even if she didn't. "My father," she managed to say. She knew he would beat up someone if neccisary from experiance. The name Mark Turner rung a bell. She hated even thinking back to that time in her life. The guy was a jerk. She blamed it on the every teen girl has to have at least one bad boyfriend in their life. She didn't like to think about why Sirius had broken his nose for her. She accepted the hug clinging on. It was now that she realized her best guy friend was shirtless. Not that this bothered her, she had seen him shirtless on multiple occaisons through out her almost 11 years of knowing him. She let him lead her into his apartment. She pulled the towel he wrapped around her shoulders tighter. She hadn't realized how cold she was until he had given her the towel. She truly was every essence of the word soaking wet. Her teeth had been chattering, but she was too distracted to notice. She smiled a sad looking smile when he wiped off her tears. She nodded her head. "But I don't have any dry clothes," she said without thinking. (( sorry for the lack-of-length ))

Sirius had just frowned when he heard Lexy say it was her father that caused all of this. Of course, the bloody pureblood maniac. He figured Lexy probably had a fight with her parents and ran out. He felt really bad for her, but held off on saying anything in response just yet.
The shivering Lexy seemed to be calming down a little bit. Sirius thought the warmth and comfort of his apartment, and hopefully himself, were helping already. Lexy admitted that she didn't have any dry clothes and Sirius tried not to laugh, but couldn't suppress a small grin. "No, I guess you don't. Why not some of mine then? I'm sure I have a t-shirt or something you could wear." And with that he wrapped his arm around his friend's shoulders and led her down the hall toward his bedroom. They stepped through a doorway into a large bedroom with dark blue walls and a king sized bed with a black comforter. There was a big walk in closet toward the back of the room, and that's where Sirius headed. He pulled open a drawer of his dresser and grabbed a soft t-shirt of his, one of the smallest he could find, and a pair of simple plaid pajama pants. Sirius walked out of the closet and handed the clothes to Lexy.
"Here. They're the smallest things I could find, but they'll probably still be huge on you," he told her regretfully. Then he pointed across the room to another open door through which could be seen marble counters and a sink. "The bathroom's there, as you know. Feel free to take a shower or use whatever you need. There's more towels in there too." Sirius gave her another warm smile. "I'll just be out here," he added, motioning out of his bedroom door to the hall. Turning his back on Lexy so she could go in the bathroom and change, Sirius headed back to his closet. He grabbed another t-shirt for himself and slipped it on over his head.
Walking out of his bedroom, he made it to the kitchen and began searching his cupboards for mugs and cocoa. Finding all the ingredients, Sirius then set to work fixing hot chocolate for the two of them from Mrs. Potter's special recipe. There was a secret something you add to make the drink extra sweet and extra calming. Sirius even grabbed his wand from the couch and put a cheering charm on Lexy's cup, just as a little something extra to help. He carried the cocoa back to his bedroom, sat on his bed, and sipped his drink while he waited for Lexy to come out.

If this were any other time she would have been laughing at herself. The soaking wet blonde obviously didn't have any dry clothes with her. Of course she'd have to borrow something of his and it wouldn't be a big deal at all. At the moment all she managed was a small smile and nod. She followed almost robotically, which wasn't anything like her normally. Normally she'd be happy-go-lucky looking around and chatting up a storm. She took the clothes he handed her. They'd be large on her, but they were only pajamas, so it wasn't that big of a deal. She nodded when he pointed towards the bathroom. As he was beginning to walk away she called out, "Sirius wait!" she paused, "Thanks for everything. I don't know what I would have done without you."
She walked into the large bathroom and turned on the shower to heat right away. She grabbed one of the dark blue towels from under the sink and hung it up to the shower and then she stripped of her wet clothes and hung them up to dry, and set her wand on the bathroom counter. She showered slowly letting the water wash away the dirt and tears and warm her up far quicker than a blanket would have. She used Sirius’s shampoo, and was done in just about twenty minutes. She was far more relaxed now then she had been before. No more tears, and her hair wasn’t a matted mess and her clothes weren’t sticking to her. She slipped on Sirius’s pajamas and t-shirt and hung her own tank top and shorts up to dry.
When she opened the door she smelled something… delicious. It was the familiar smell of hot chocolate, something she didn’t have very often, but absolutely loved. She had never had it with her parents, just a few times at school with friends late at night. Usually when someone was upset about something. Something about coco always seems to make people feel better. Parents who care often give it to their children. She followed the smell into the bedroom and bounced on to the bed in an almost happy way. She was starting to feel better already. What did she care what Charles said? He was a jerk anyways. Although she knew she did care. She took the cup for her from off the headboard and took a sip. It was delicious. Far better than the hot chocolate the house elves made. “This is great!” she said taking another sip feeling oddly more cheerful. “Where did you learn to make hot chocolate?” she asked him with a slight teasing tone in her voice. She was now feeling more angry or annoyed then upset about what Charles had said. She was glad she had said what she said. She wasn’t going to go out looking for a rich pureblood to take care of her, and she most certainly wasn’t going to marry someone they picked out for her.

Sirius looked up when he heard the bathroom door open. Lexy walked out and he was glad to see she looked much better already, and not just because her face wasn't covered in tears; she looked more relaxed too. He smiled as she grabbed her mug of hot chocolate and took a sip. And, as he had expected, she liked it and was smiling in no time. "Oh it's just a little something I've perfected over the years," he answered with a hopefully convincing expression, but then because he knew she wouldn't believe him, Sirius added, "...or something I got from Mrs. Potter..." He smiled at his friend. But where the recipe came from didn't matter, just that it was delicious and made you feel good.
Sirius continued to just sit on the bed with Lexy and drink, but after a couple minutes he had to bring up what was on both of their minds. "So..." he began and glanced over at the girl with a tentative look, "I know you need to talk...what happened?" Lexy had always had a problem with her parents and their views, just like Sirius had himself. But in the most recent years, as Lexy was nearing the end of her education at Hogwarts and was growing older, the conflicts had gotten worse. Just like his parents, hers were obsessed with breeding and keeping everything pureblood. It's one of the reasons Sirius and Lexy had clicked so quickly as friends; they could always talk about how much they hated the bloody pureblood mania and they could always come to each other when they needed reassurance and a friend who understood.
But this time, judging by the state that Lexy had appeared in at his doorstep, it seemed to be worse. He hoped neither her parents nor Lexy had said anything too drastic, such as anything that would get them to disown her or cause her to run away permanently like Sirius had done. True, he liked living in his own place and being away from his parents, but it was still difficult and being disowned still bothered him deep down; it wasn't something he wanted for Lexy. She didn't deserve to have to deal with that. But if the situation came to that, Lexy would of course be welcome to live with Sirius.
((Sorry it took me ages, Sam. I've been a bit busy))

She giggled at his joke. Her problems with her father seemed to seem so much less important now. She had Mrs. Potter’s baked goods many times when she had sent some to Sirius. If she happened to see him before they were gone that is. Mrs. Potter was an amazing cook. She wasn’t surprised she had given Sirius the Hot Chocolate. “Well it’s delicious,” she told him. “Give her my compliments.” She winked and added, “And you did a wonderful job heating the water and mixing it together.
Her grin went away when he brought up the situation again. She nodded slowly and took another drink. “You’re right.” She rearranged her legs a bit and looked back up at Sirius. “Oh Sirius. It was terrible. The worst yet. My father started asking me about my future. When I told him I still wanted to travel for a year and then start writing books he got mad and started yelling about how he thought I’d outgrow this stage by now. Then he insulted my friends,” she said whispering the last part. He had said a lot of mean things calling them names that shouldn’t be said in polite conversations. She had stood up for them of course, but she didn’t think it was necessary to repeat it all. “Then he started going on about breeding like usual,” she said rolling her eyes. They of course didn’t call it breeding. They called it ‘finding a proper husband of good class.’ Meaning rich and pureblood. “Then he asked if I had found a ‘proper husband’ yet, or if he was going to have to find one.” She paused taking a moment to calm down. She took another sip of hot chocolate that seemed to cheer her up a bit.
“Then I said ‘what about love?’ and he scoffed at me!” she said clearly annoyed. “He told me ‘who cares about that? All that matters is marrying someone of good class and having children,’ etcetera. So I said, ‘What if I already fell in love with someone Dad? What if he was a poor muggleborn, but he was a good person. What would you say to that?’ He started yelling about how he’d lock me up and force me to marry someone proper.” She paused. “I said something about how he couldn’t control me forever and this isn’t a stage. It’s my life. It’s who I am, and that I was going to marry whom ever I wanted to do, and I left. The whole time my mother just sat there and said nothing as usual. When I left, they didn’t follow me. I ran to the park, it started to rain. So I came here,” she said finally finishing her story. She took another sip of the hot chocolate.
((It’s fine. ^_^))
